How MediaMax Works
MediaMax is a whole-house/boat
system comprised of the following three components:
1. MediaServer™
- Stores and serves your media over your network to an unlimited
number
of MediaDecks. The Rackmount
model supports up to 3.2 TBs of storage with
five 250GB
or 400GB removeable Media Drive modules while the Desktop model
includes
up to 500GBs
of storage with one internal Media Drive and one removeable Media
Drive
Module.
The Rackmount
MediaServer includes a RAID
controller that allows you to optionally
configure
it's storage as either a JBOD (Just A Bunch Of Drives) or with
RAID levels
0, 1, 0+1
or RAID 5.
Select a MediaServer that supports the number of rooms you want to access your media
from and the number of DVDs and CDs you would like to store.

MediaDeck™ - Media viewing
and listening set-top stations that instantly, on-demand
play back
selected movies, music and photos from the MediaServer
on your home theater
TV and
surround sound audio system(s).
MediaDecks
may either be distributed in each room or centralized in your
audio-video
distribution
server room. Includes both wired and wireless Ethernet connections.
Select the Media Player that meets your audio and video quality requirements and whether
you would like to load DVDs and CDs onto the MediaServer from anywhere in the home.
If you have rooms that you only need music played in then. consider using an AudioDeck.
MediaDeck - An unlimited number of MediaDecks per MediaServer
may be added
throughout your house with up to 30 simultaneously
watching any movie from anywhere in your home. MediaDeck provides single
click instant access to
your
entire collection of movies, music, photo-
graphs
and internet access.

MediaStore™ Optional
add-on Firewire storage appliance that provides unlimited media
expansion.
MediaMax is available in
either a 19 inch rackmount chassis or stylish brushed
aluminum
desktop enclosure.
MediaStore - Attach one or more MediaStore Firewire appliances to the
MediaServer for
virtually unlimited
media storage. Each MediaStore
supports up to 1-TeraBytes of desktop
storage or up
to 3.2-Terabytes of rackmount storage.
Each 250GB or
400GB removeable aluminum hard drive "Media Drive Module"
stores up to
40 or 60 DVD
movies respectively and may be swapped between other MediaStores or the
rackmount MediaServers. Optionally you can easily
"mirror" or backup all of your media onto
additional MediaDrive Trays and store them in a safe
place using the included backup utility on
the MediaServer.
