Octenol Refill

Octenol, used in Mosquito Magnet traps, is an EPA registered secondary attractant that mimics human breath, drawing mosquitoes and biting insects to the trap.

Mosquito Magnet Octenol attracts most mosquito species, including salt marsh mosquitoes, as well as no-see-ums and black flies. It will lure biting insects to the Mosquito Magnetr trap where they are captured, then dehydrate and die.

Using a secondary attractant is critical to the performance of your Mosquito Magnet trap. Once mosquitoes sense the carbon dioxide from the Mosquito Magnet, they need secondary attractants, Octenol or Lurex3T, to hone in on the trap.

Nets that are clogged with dead mosquitoes, spiders, pollen and dust will have an adverse effect on the vacuum’s ability (airflow) of your Mosquito Magnet Liberty Plus and Independence trap and prevent it from working at its best.

Start each season with a new Mosquito Magnet Liberty Plus Net and replace every 21 days or sooner if neccesary. The drawstring on the net makes disposal and replacement of the net simple. The Liberty Plus net is 50% larger than the Liberty net allowing for an increased catch rate. This net can also be used with the Independence Trap.

Attractant 3-Pack

Mosquito Magnet Lurex3, a patent-pending mosquito attractant, mimics naturally occurring human skin scents or odors that attract mosquitoes. It has been designed for use with all Mosquito Magnetr Traps.

The EPA-registered Mosquito Magnet Lurex3 is the only attractant proven to attract the Asian Tiger Mosquito. It also attracts other species of mosquitoes that may transmit diseases such as West Nile Virus, Encephalitis, and Heartworm.

The Mosquito Magnet Lurex3 cartridge should be replaced every 21 days. After 21 days of use, the cartridge appears the same; however, it will no longer be effective as the Lurex3 will have been released. The catch rate will be reduced if the attractant is not changed.

Start each season with a new Mosquito Magnet Executive Net and replace as needed. This innovative rigid mosquito net has been especially engineered to maximize continuous, unblocked airflow (critical to the performance of the mosquito trap). The new net allows for easy disposal, eliminating any interaction with insects and features increased capacity to extend the life of the net before needing replacement.
