WindTrak AV Antenna Mount Wind Vane

A bird-proof spike extends another 10" (24 cm) above the vane to discourage birds from landing.

Reflector tape on the vane and tacking tabs make WindTrak 10 Sport easy to see day and night. WindTrak vanes are sturdy and when installed properly, offer many years of use. They have been wind tunnel tested to wind speeds of 80 knots! WindTrak 10 Sport has a 10" (25 cm) vane. Includes glass reinforced polycarbonate J-Base for side, top or front of mast mounting on most dinghies, smaller boats and sport boats. Stands just 9.25" (23.5 cm) tall and weighs 1.2 ounces (31 g).

J-BASE for WindTrak 15

This optional mount for WindTrak 15 provides more versatility and reduces overall weight aloft by 15 grams when substituted for standard WindTrak 15 mounting base.

The J-Base comes with two #10 (5 mm) selftapping screws. Drill a pilot hole in mast, apply silicone sealant or Locktite® and screw into mast. Installation of J-Base can also be accomplished by tapping the mast for 3/16" (5 mm) machine screws or by using epoxy putty to affix base to the mast

Universal Masthead Mount

Extend your WindTrak 10.Sport or WindTrak 15 vane away from masthead obstructions and turbulence. The 13" (33 cm) arm comes with hardware allowing side or top mounting and offset angles up to ±20 degrees. May be attached securely to flat, curved, vertical, horizontal, or inclined surfaces. Gain space aloft and improve mounting position of wind finders and other equipment. Mount on the back of the mast for easier viewing from the cockpit. The mount adapts to virtually every masthead situation.

Rocker Stopper Boat Stabilizer

Rocker Stoppers help dampen the rocking motion of boats at anchor. Simply tie Rocker Stoppers approximately 44 cm (18″) apart, making a string of them, with a 5-10 pound weight attached at the bottom of the string. Hang one string off each side of the boat. Just four units per side are what it takes on most boats to 36′. Be sure you hang them where they will always be underwater. Many people use mushroom anchors with their Rocker Stoppers because this type of weight nests well inside the last Rocker Stopper in your string. Use 10 mm (3/8″) braided nylon or 3-stranded nylon line.

Use without a weight (or with a reduced weight) for drift fishing. Rocker Stoppers will slow down drift substantially. They are also great to use at the end of a dock to stabilize the tip from rocking. Rocker Stoppers nest together and each one is 33 cm (14″) in diameter.

It’s lightweight and molded of high impact, virtually indestructible styrene. Can be deployed or retrieved in seconds. Unaffected by saltwater and cannot affect the sides of your boat. Units are made to “nest” within each other, so storage is a breeze.

Stand-alone rain collector with a flat mounting base replaces the rain collector on your Vantage Pro2 sensor suite so it can be installed separately; or as part of an EnviroMonitor system.

AeroCone® Rain Collector with Flat Base

The AeroCone rain collector reduces wind-induced errors by providing a more aerodynamic path around the collector. Its contours are designed to streamline the airflow and reduce flow distortions. The design improves rain data accuracy in high wind situations where the horizontal wind velocity can cause under reporting.

The enhanced design features don’t stop with the outer shape: the inside of the rain collector is equally well designed, keeping intact the carefully engineered interior walls that reduce splash out during high rain conditions. The debris screen locks into place, ensuring that it remains in place during high winds and heavy rainfall events.

Sonic Anemometer

Measure wind with no moving parts. Use with a Sensor Transmitter or an EnviroMonitor Node, or as a replacement anemometer for wireless and cabled Vantage Pro2.

The Davis Sonic Anemometer has no moving parts – it measures wind speed and direction with electro-acoustic transducers that send sonic pulses back and forth. The time it takes for the pulses to travel from one transducer to the other is affected by the movement of air. Speed and direction can then be calculated, with calibration for air temperature. The Sonic Anemometer has its own solar panel that charges an internal battery. It can be used with an EnviroMonitor Node, or as a replacement anemometer for your Davis weather station. It can also be installed in a Sensor Transmitter to create additional wind stations when reporting to WeatherLink Live.
